For Immediate Release American Speed Association PR THUNDER HILL RACEWAY JOINS ASA MEMBER TRACK PROGRAM DAYTONA BEACH , Fla. (March 16, 2007) – The old joke about how “everything is bigger in Texas,” rings true with Thunder Hill Raceway, a short track situated in Kyle, Texas. Even though THR is a 3/8-mile oval, the excitement it casts on the community is large, and should grow considerably in 2007 with their recent affiliation with the ASA Member Track program. As a Level II participant in the ASA Member Track Program, THR joins a national organization with racetracks across the United States , each dedicated to working together to improve the state of racing for both the fans and competitors. THR runs a very exciting 11 race season with every show being a “Big Event” for race fans, yet allowing the competitors and race fans an opportunity to still have time for family. “We are proud to be able to have such an exciting race season with this limited type schedule, we have found during the last two seasons, the racers like this,” said Mary Ann Naumann, THR promoter/co-owner. THR features a slate of racing action with the coming of the ASA Late Models, the return of the TSRS Late Models, the A-Line Super Stocks, open wheel Modifieds, Trucks, Hobby Stocks and the all exciting Grand Stocks with many other touring series scheduled to spice up the events. Adding to the already exciting 11 THR events, the 2007 season is set to open with the Allstate Texas Thunder and Lightening RACEFEST presented by Toyota, a huge two-weekend extravaganza with action for fans of Stock Car and Open wheel racing. The first event on March 31 will feature the touring NASCAR Grand National Division, West Series opening with the Texas Premier Late Model Series, the Texas Super Racing Series (TSRS) for door-to-door action. This will be followed by the second part of the RACEFEST with the April 7 running of the USAC National and Western States Midgets. For ticket information for RACEFEST, go online at www.texasracefest.com . The entire 2007 THR schedule can be found online at www.thunderhillracewaycom . “Our season really gets off with a bang as we have two of the biggest events of the year right off the bat,” stated Mary Ann Naumann, “It doesn't matter if you like the Stock Cars or the Midgets as there is going to be plenty of racing action this season, this should get our racetrack off to a fun start and get the season going into high gear right away. Our teams are busy getting ready, when the gates open the teams will be set to go and I know our fans will ready for some great Texas-style short track racing.” In 2007 the teams will be greeted by the sight of ASA logos around the facility, the first time for this racetrack, and the first time that the competitors will be covered by the renowned ASA participant accident insurance. The ASA insurance program, always noted for its excellence, has been further enhanced by the recently announced partnership with TOPIC Motorsports Insurance (TMI). ASA Member Track operators are able to purchase general and excess liability, automobile, an expanded ASA-exclusive $500,000 participant accident medical, workers compensation and health insurance directly from TMI. Details are available online at www.TOPICinsurance.com . “The fans in Texas are some of the most dedicated to short track racing and those that attend Thunder Hill Raceway are very loyal to the track,” said Dennis Huth, president of the ASA Member Track and Regional and National Racing programs. “Thunder Hill consistently produces some exciting short track action which is exactly what the ASA has been known for over the past thirty years. Their style of racing will fit in perfectly with what the ASA is all about and we are excited to have Thunder Hill join the program.” Naumann explained that it was important for her teams to feel they are part of a national organization which is why she chose to align with Huth and the ASA Member Track program this year. “I think that the ASA affiliation will help Thunder Hill offer our competitors national recognition and give them some exposure beyond Texas , and I think that ASA is in a position to help with that. With the new owners, I have worked hard to gather an incredible group of 14 members to our ‘THR Management Team' each coming with major racing experience. We have already made some improvements to our facility and are working towards even more. We are excited to be able to offer more for our racers and the fans, starting with lowering the grandstand entrance from $18.00 to $15.00 for adults and children 6-12, from $7.00 to $5.00. I think our teams are excited about the ASA program, we feel it is an excellent step in moving our program forward into the national spotlight,” stated Naumann.
